CryptoFights Releases Gameplay Trailer

2018 was an exciting year for blockchain gaming, with a lot of promise and promises. However, 2019 ought to be the year where the big claims materialise or fade away.

One frustration I had last year when writing and creating videos on blockchain games was the lack of gameplay footage. I’ve learnt the hard way that the gaming industry is as prone to smoke and mirrors as any other, and short of play-testing the games myself (which I will be doing for several games in the coming weeks), gameplay footage is the only litmus test.

CryptoFights is a 3D fighting game on the blockchain, powered by Bitcoin SV for the fights themselves, but with items powered by Enjin Coin. It’s a mobile platform game with an interesting competitive vibe. The gameplay is turn-based and the character progression is familiar to those who enjoy an RPG. That is, players start with a low level character and must earn XP, gold, and gear to progress to better opponents, arenas, and rewards.

The trailer was a little sparse on the gameplay footage itself, but what we could see is interesting. The UI looks excellent and if CryptoFights’ website and videos are anything to go by, there will be a good amount of polish.
