2022 was a year that won’t be fast forgotten in crypto, primarily for reasons that were less than positive. So, will 2023 be much of the same? Will there be an uptick or even a bull market? Will there be more market-moving events?
Token Gamer and NFT Insider have decided to combine forces to launch a weekly podcast, Mint One (formerly WAX Lyrical). John Nichols of NFT Insider and I will discuss a new topic every week, as well as feature special guests. If there’s a topic you’d like us to cover, make sure you let us know through the Token Gamer Discord or Twitter, or the NFT Insider Discord or Twitter.
In last week’s episode, we wrapped 2022 and good riddance. This week, we look ahead to what 2023 has in store for us, what might be some highlights, and the directions we’d like to see it go.
Mint One, Episode 52: 2022 in Web3: A Year in Review
I watch, listen to, and read an enormous amount of content around crypto — from blockchain gaming through to finance. The market is in a sorry state, as many of us knew it would be (albeit not quite to this degree), and the people I trust with analysis of the situation suggest that 2023 may not see the end of the downturn. Even the most positive analysis of the people I trust was that Q1 would be write-off. Now, while nobody can predict this wild industry, I lean on the wisdom of crowds. So, if it’s the case that the markets won’t improve much this year, what is there to look forward to?
In all honesty, I believe whether the prices rise or not, we’ll see a lot of mainstream adoption as we did in 2023, with luxury brands, gaming, and major companies utilizing the tech. I believe the rise of utility in NFTs will be the death of wild speculation, or at least I hope it will. I think that Twitter journalism and sleuths will continue to do good work and dodgy companies and practices will be sniffed out as a result. As for what else John and I predict for 2023, you’ll have to watch or listen.
We’d like to ask that if you listen to us on Apple Podcasts and/or Spotify, you rate us five stars and leave us a review if you enjoy Mint One. This helps both our podcast and the blockchain gaming ecosystem as a whole!
