Let’s get straight to why you’re here, shall we? Blockchain Brawlers Ambassador Program has gone live, to apply on the WAX.io website, click here. Becoming a Blockchain Brawler ambassador allows you to provide feedback on the game and its many facets in the interest of positively shaping its future.
Blockchain Brawlers was one of the most unexpected projects announced last year, to my eyes at least. In 2021, the two blockchains that were showing dominance in the charts of games by active wallets were WAX and Binance Smart Chain. This trend has continued into 2022, and although there is a smattering of other chains, WAX and BSC are still out ahead.
You might have unconsciously looked at this (mostly) two-horse race as a rivalry and perhaps one that would continue for years to come; WAX and BSC fighting to induct new games into their ecosystems. However, the blockchain gaming industry become more interested in chain interoperability, which is likely the best outcome for gamers. One of the first major joint projects announced was Blockchain Brawlers.
It may end up being the case that multiple chains band together and then wage war on other blockchain alliances, and that wouldn’t be the worst outcome. History has shown us that rivalries push innovation, production, and effort further than any other contributing factor to success. But, for now, we will have to watch the battlefield take shape and Blockchain Brawlers might be a significant moment in its formation.
What Is Blockchain Brawlers?

There isn’t an abundance of gameplay information, but we know it’s a Play to Earn (P2E) game in which you acquire different rarities of brawler — uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary — and send them to the ring to bring back $BRWL tokens and NFT rewards. You can also acquire different rarity rings and some allow for simultaneous fights.

My biggest question currently is how enjoyable the gameplay will be or whether it is a passive earner. Both have their place, but I am admittedly hoping for some traditional gaming elements, rather than DeFi with a gaming UI. The beta is coming Q1 2022 and with the ambassador program opening up today, we will have answers imminently.
Regardless of who Blockchain Brawlers appeals to, Phase 4 of its release is crucial to the immediate future of blockchain gaming: the bridge between Binance NFT and WAX Cloud Wallets. This will of course allow for players to move their wrestlers between chains, but it’s improbable that WAX and Binance went to the trouble of forging a bridge between the chains just for one unproven game. Blockchain gaming is about to level up.
