Ultra has been aiming to be the blockchain version of Steam for a few years now. In fact, Ultra appeared to want to achieve a type of synergy and interoperability with Steam, but after they controversially bowed out of blockchain gaming, Ultra was left in a stronger position.
Ultra’s description of their own platform shows that they want to be a holistic solution to gaming, giving access to not only games, but community and a marketplace:
Ultra is the first entertainment platform providing a variety of games industry services under a single roof, accessible through a single login: discover, buy, and play games, watch live-streaming feeds, interact with your favorite influencers, participate in contests, compete in tournaments and much more.

Ultra Partners With Skybound Entertainment

In a Medium post last week, Ultra announced a publishing partnership with Skybound Entertainment, a multiplatform content company that controls impressive intellectual properties in gaming, like The Walking Dead.
Ultra’s platform is poised to transform the way games are purchased, shared and experienced,” said Dan Murray, President, Skybound Games. “We look forward to working closely with Ultra and their comprehensive platform solution to deliver Skybound Games’ slate of original titles to a much wider network of gamers.

This means that Ultra will offer the entire range of currently available The Walking Dead PC games, a number of other successful titles such as Rainbow Billy, and will then publish upcoming releases in 2022.
