Web3 gaming is expanding in all directions and one such direction is casual gaming. You would be a fool to besmirch the casual side of the industry as it has a high value in many key areas, including Web3’s ultimate barrier, onboarding.
Token Gamer and NFT Insider have decided to combine forces to launch a weekly podcast, Mint One (formerly WAX Lyrical). John Nichols of NFT Insider and I will discuss a new topic every week, as well as feature special guests. If there’s a topic you’d like us to cover, make sure you let us know through the Token Gamer Discord or Twitter, or the NFT Insider Discord or Twitter.
In last week’s episode, John and I went through out top picks for Web3 games coming 2023. This week, we stay in the same area, but go a different direction: an interview with Steve Curran, CEO of Burn Ghost Games.
Mint One Podcast, Episode 57: Steve Curran, CEO of Burn Ghost Games
Firstly, what is Burn Ghost Games? Well, in December 2022, I wrote an article about their funding round and covered that question, so I’ll quote it here:
So, what is Burn Ghost? Burn Ghost is a casual gaming platform that will allow users to win NFTs and use crypto (as well as fiat) for entry fees. The games featured on the platform will be accessible and simple, but with elements of skill that allow for competitiveness. Top performers in each game will be rewarded with NFT collectibles.
One casual game that you may not realize has Burn Ghost Games behind it is the viral hit, The FTX Game. This landed around the time of the FTX saga unfolding and as far as attempts to be amusing about disaster go, this was on point!
So, who better to talk with about how Web3 is unfolding, its future, and the difficulties of building in the space, than Steve Curran, CEO of Burn Ghost Games.
We’d like to ask that if you listen to us on Apple Podcasts and/or Spotify, you rate us five stars and leave us a review if you enjoy Mint One. This helps both our podcast and the blockchain gaming ecosystem as a whole!
