The Sandbox is one of the biggest names in Web3 and is responsible for onboarding the likes of Gucci, The Walking Dead, Snoop Dogg, and RollerCoaster Tycoon. Well, we’re joined by the co-founder and COO of The Sandbox, Sebastien Borget, to get his insights on the industry and the future of the space.
Token Gamer and NFT Insider have decided to combine forces to launch a weekly podcast, Mint One (formerly WAX Lyrical). John Nichols of NFT Insider and I will discuss a new topic every week, as well as feature special guests. If there’s a topic you’d like us to cover, make sure you let us know through the Token Gamer Discord or Twitter, or the NFT Insider Discord or Twitter.
In last week’s episode, we decided to look backwards and see if NFTs could fit into Web2 games. This week, we’re looking forward again, with the help of none other than Sebastien Borget.
Mint One, Episode 43: Sebastien Borget, Co-Founder and COO of The Sandbox
If the name Sebastien Borget is familiar to you, you’re not alone. If you have even a cursory interest in Web3, blockchain gaming, or the metaverse, you will have likely come across him. Sebastien is the co-founder and COO of The Sandbox, but he is also president of the Blockchain Gaming Alliance (which both Token Gamer is a member of as a company and I am a member personally too), and a frequent speaker and panelist at blockchain-centric conferences.
Sebastien is a difficult man to get time with so we were grateful to have the opportunity to throw questions at him, and now that we have, we’re even more pleased. Sebastien’s insight into Web3 is singular by virtue of how broad it is. That is, he truly sees blockchain gaming and the metaverse at the macro level. It is no wonder that The Sandbox has seen the success it has.
In this interview, John and I ask Sebastien about the metaverse, onboarding, how The Sandbox has partnered with so many big names, the Steam ban on NFTs, and much more. We often feel that our interviews are “must listens” for those in the space and this is certainly no exception, in fact, it might be the best example.
Let us know your thoughts on the conversation on Twitter, in our Discord, or carrier pigeon me a handwritten note.
We’d like to ask that if you listen to us on Apple Podcasts and/or Spotify, you rate us five stars and leave us a review if you enjoy Mint One. This helps both our podcast and the blockchain gaming ecosystem as a whole!
To listen to Mint One, you can find us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Anchor, YouTube, and Google Podcasts.
