Mirandus Tech Test to Begin on 15th May: How to Play

If you had to name the top five Web3 games that are most widely anticipated, Mirandus by Gala Games is comfortably on that list. Now, we will be able to jump into the third tech test, “SURVIVE”.

Although this is the third tech test we’ve seen of Mirandus, it is by far the most interesting. This test will feature a full-sized zone as opposed to the closed areas we are used to from previous tests. Furthermore, there will be more to do this time, with a focus on game mechanics such as crafting.

There are a few notes that the developers would like you to keep in mind, however. Firstly, this is a tech test of some of the core gameplay mechanics, not a beta or alpha client. So, it goes without saying, this is not the finished article and will likely host a number of bugs (that you ought to report.)

One detail that hasn’t been highlighted enough is that Gala Games’ May Mayhem will also play a role in this tech test:

So, if you’re going to play this tech test, you might want to plan how to get to Mother and cave her head in. What an odd sentence.

What Is Mirandus?

Mirandus is a fantasy MMORPG by Gala Games, utilizing blockchain technology. It is one of the more ambitious projects in development and is arguably Gala’s flagship product. Although there is no release date, Mirandus has been in development for several years and appears to be approaching something resembling an alpha client. We have been covering Mirandus since 2021 and while many games have fallen away in both hype and likelihood of success, Mirandus hasn’t.

Mirandus is an epic fantasy RPG set in a massive world ruled by five player-monarchs. In game, players have absolute freedom of choice: they can set out into the wilderness alone to try their fortunes against the monsters of the deep woods and dungeons, join with one of the monarchs to serve as a knight in their court, or set up shop in one of the five great cities of the realm. Player ownership of in-game assets is a central mechanic, with players being able to hold land deeds which allow them to claim parts of the wilderness and set up holdfasts ranging from small farms to massive cities. In Mirandus, you decide who you will be and choose your own quest in the epic fight against evil.

How to Play the Gala Games Mirandus Tech Test

There’s good news and bad news here: the good news is you can still get into the tech test, but the bad news is, it isn’t cheap. To join the test, you need to have a Mirandus Exemplar character NFT in your Gala wallet. While there are still plenty available and the time of writing this, the cheapest I could find was the Human Exemplar: The Weavers which was going for $107.28 worth of Ethereum.

Still, if you want to be in all of the tech tests and — one would presume — the alpha and beta tests, it could be a justifiable purchase.
