The second ever special episode of the Mint One podcast comes with a first: John and I recording in person, together. The first special episode was NFT.NYC. This second edition is a quick trip across the pond into Cologne, Germany, for Gamescom 2022.

Token Gamer and NFT Insider have decided to combine forces to launch a weekly podcast, Mint One (formerly WAX Lyrical). John Nichols of NFT Insider and I will discuss a new topic every week, as well as feature special guests. Special Episode: Live From Gamescom 2022

Gamescom has had several years off of being the physical event it has been previously. For the uninitiated, Gamescom is one of the biggest gaming events for both businesses in the industry and gamers. There is always a wealth of billboard announcements from publishers, as well as a host of experiences and games to try.

This was my first visit to Gamescom and I was attending on behalf of Token Gamer, so it was twice as interesting. The business section of the event was vast with many exhibitors which resulted in a lot of meetings across three days. I will be creating a comprehensive piece on why Gamescom was particularly interesting for those interested in Web3, but for now, listen to John and I discuss our initial impressions of this titanic event, as well as blockchain’s unexpected reception behind closed doors.
