Mint One Podcast 38: Michael Sanders, Co-Founder of Horizon Blockchain Games

We said we had a lot of great guests coming up and weren’t lying. This week, we interview Michael Sanders, Co-Founder and Chief Storyteller at Horizon Blockchain Games.

Token Gamer and NFT Insider have decided to combine forces to launch a weekly podcast, Mint One (formerly WAX Lyrical). John Nichols of NFT Insider and I will discuss a new topic every week, as well as feature special guests. If there’s a topic you’d like us to cover, make sure you let us know through the Token Gamer Discord or Twitter, or the NFT Insider Discord or Twitter.

In last week’s episode, John and I laid bare our (crypto) bookmarks and gave listeners 26 different Web3 tools. This week, we’ve got another very special guest: Michael Sanders.

Episode 38: Michael Sanders, Co-Founder of Horizon Blockchain Games

If the name Michael Sanders or Horizon Blockchain Games rings a bell, it’s because of Skyweaver. Michael is the Co-Founder and Chief Storyteller (yes, I ask what the latter entails) of Horizon Blockchain Games which produces the brilliant TCG as well as the Sequence wallet and developer platform.

Earlier this year, upon playing Skyweaver for the first time and for a sizable chunk of hours, I dubbed it the best blockchain game so far. I also have a video on Skyweaver coming out soon, so I’ll instead focus on the Sequence wallet and developer platform as they are wildly underappreciated presently.

The Sequence wallet is a non-custodial Web3 smart wallet that can connect with all Ethereum and EVM chains, such as Polygon and Avalanche, as well as hold NFTs too. You are able to pay gas fees in any coin, buy NFTs and cryptocurrencies with fiat, and swap tokens within the wallet.

The Sequence developer platform allows developers to create Web3 apps and games easily with fantastic onboarding. This onboarding extends to players and users, giving access to the Sequence ecosystem as a whole with social logins, multi-chain support, and browser and app extensions.

As you can see, Horizon Blockchain Games may have created a brilliant Web3 TCG, but Michael and Horizon have far bigger aspirations. This was a brilliant conversation with another highly knowledgeable person in Web3 and well worth a listen!

We’d like to ask that if you listen to us on Apple Podcasts and/or Spotify, you rate us five stars and leave us a review if you enjoy Mint One. This helps both our podcast and the blockchain gaming ecosystem as a whole!

To listen to Mint One, you can find us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Anchor, YouTube, and Google Podcasts.
