Layne Lafrance, Product Co-Founder at Flow: Mint One 63

Layne Lafrance has had a fabled history in Web3 with involvement in many of the most influential projects to date. So, we asked her to come onto the pod and talk about CryptoKitties, Dapper Labs, Flow, and much more!

Token Gamer and NFT Insider have decided to combine forces to launch a weekly podcast, Mint One (formerly WAX Lyrical). John Nichols of NFT Insider and I will discuss a new topic every week, as well as feature special guests. If there’s a topic you’d like us to cover, make sure you let us know through the Token Gamer Discord or Twitter, or the NFT Insider Discord or Twitter.

In last week’s episode, we had a recording live from NFT.NYC 2023. This week, we’re back to having fascinating guests and Layne is certainly that!

Mint One Podcast, Episode 63: Layne Lafrance, Product Co-Founder at Flow

You may not be familiar with the name Layne Lafrance, but if you’ve been in the space a while, you will certainly be aware of the projects she has been involved in. The key highlights of Layne’s Web3 career are undoubtedly some of the most interesting you’re likely to find, including CryptoKities. CryptoKities is one of the first blockchain games, launching at the end of 2017 on Ethereum, which it consequently broke. Ethereum was not well designed for high transaction volume — hence the rise of layer 2s and rival layer 1s — and so the Flow blockchain was born.

In this episode, we discuss CryptoKitties, Flow, the state of the space, what will take blockchain mainstream, Flow’s partnership with Google, and much more. It’s truly one of the most engrossing interviews we’ve had on Mint One and Layne shows why she is one of the sharpest minds in Web3.

We’d like to ask that if you listen to us on Apple Podcasts and/or Spotify, you rate us five stars and leave us a review if you enjoy Mint One. This helps both our podcast and the blockchain gaming ecosystem as a whole!

To listen to Mint One, you can find us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Anchor, YouTube, and Google Podcasts.
