After several months of being unable to discuss the situation, John can now open up about the end of an era with AtomicHub and his own NFTInsider.
Robert Baggs and John Nicholls have decided to combine forces to launch the weekly Mint One Podcast. Each week they will discuss a new topic around web3, as well as feature special guests from all corners of the industry. If there’s a topic you’d like us to cover, make sure you let us know through the Token Gamer Discord or Twitter, or Mint One Twitter.
Mint One Podcast, Episode 80: John Leaves AtomicHub and NFTInsider
There were rumors circulating about AtomicHub for some time, none of them positive. Although AtomicHub has objectively had a pivotal role in the WAX ecosystem and the rise of many NFT collections, there were whispers they were out of runway and were about to become victims of the crypto winter.
Eventually, the employees of Pink.gg, the company that owned AtomicHub, were informed that Pink.gg had filed for bankruptcy and it was to be the last day for many of them. This news didn’t break to the community at large at that time because AtomicHub’s impact on web3 and its indispensability to the WAX ecosystem was not lost on several organizations who wanted to buy the marketplace. Once that was done and dusted, it was announced.
So, in this episode, we adopt an unusual format: I interview John on his two-and-a-half years at Pink.gg, what happened with AtomicHub, and what’s next for NFTInsider, and indeed, him!
We’d like to ask that if you listen to us on Apple Podcasts and/or Spotify, you rate us five stars and leave us a review if you enjoy Mint One. This helps both our podcast and the blockchain gaming ecosystem as a whole!
