Undead Blocks is one of the most popular, currently playable Web3 games around. So, we decided it was time to chat with the Executive Director, Grant Haseley.
Token Gamer and NFT Insider have decided to combine forces to launch a weekly podcast, Mint One (formerly WAX Lyrical). John Nichols of NFT Insider and I will discuss a new topic every week, as well as feature special guests. If there’s a topic you’d like us to cover, make sure you let us know through the Token Gamer Discord or Twitter, or the NFT Insider Discord or Twitter.
In last week’s episode, John and I spoke with Steve Curran, CEO of Burn Ghost Games. This week, we move from casual gaming to some more hardcore nerdery.
Mint One Podcast, Episode 58: Grant Haseley, Executive Director of Undead Blocks
I’m not sure what it is, but zombie shooters are ironically soothing to me. There’s something to be said about mindlessly headshotting stuff running at you and I do hope I’m not alone in that sentiment. Well, Undead Blocks is heavily inspired by the likes of COD: Zombies and it wants to attract much of the same audience.
Grant Haseley, Executive Director of Undead Blocks, may not have an extensive professional background in gaming, but he’s a gamer. Undead Blocks feels as if Grant is building a game he would want to play and threading in the value of blockchain. There have already been a lot of tournaments with many more to come, offering a merit-based Play-to-Earn (P2E) dynamic, which in my eyes is the only form of P2E that can work long-term at the moment.
Undead Blocks is moving rather quickly now and the ImmutableX game has just launched daily earning; not enough to live on, but a nice reward for playing the game. The focus for Wagyu Games — the studio behind Undead Blocks — has also shifted toward mobile gaming which sparks an interesting discussion in this episode.
We’d like to ask that if you listen to us on Apple Podcasts and/or Spotify, you rate us five stars and leave us a review if you enjoy Mint One. This helps both our podcast and the blockchain gaming ecosystem as a whole!
