Summary
- Players can now earn $GODS token every day by playing 10 games
- Modifiers to increase rewards are based primarily on player rank and deck quality
It has been an exciting week in the Immutable ecosystem after the announcement of a staggering $500 million fund. There are some highly anticipated projects in the works, such as Illuvium, Ember Sword, and Guild of Guardians, but there is also a project that is currently playable: Gods Unchained.
It’s no secret we have revered Gods Unchained for some time, first playing the game and writing about it back in 2018. The project has come a long way since then and it now sits firmly in the category of one of the best blockchain games available. The Weekend Ranked game mode allows players to play competitively for rewards and has seen rising popularity, due also to the regular updates and expansions.
Well, Gods Unchained has just announced another update on the horizon that will improve the Play-and-Earn elements of the game from merely weekends, as well as open it up to more players.
Gods Unchained: Play and Earn Every Day
For a full breakdown of the new “Daily Play-and-Earn” update, check Gods Unchained’s blog post here. I will give a synopsis of what you can expect.
Every day, the first 10 games a player plays will earn them Fragments and the first 3 wins will reward bonus Fragments. At the end of each day, players earn $GODS token based on how many Fragments they earned relative to all other players. That is, the more Fragments you earned, the bigger percentage of the daily $GODS token pool you will receive.
The number of fragments a player can earn each day is determined by two modifiers: Gameplay and Collection.
Gameplay Modifier
The Gameplay Modifier increases how much a player can earn per game primarily based on rank, with a smaller modifier for win streaks.
Collection Modifier
The Collection Modifier is based on the quality of the cards in your deck, with rarer cards giving a higher modifier than lower cards, with a smaller modifier for the lowest quality card in your deck.
It’s interesting to see Gods Unchained evolve as the years go on and they have established themselves as one of the key games in the Immutable ecosystem. This move to improve the game’s earning potential (all while aiming to retain “Play-and-Earn” rather than Play-to-Earn) could see more players dip a toe.
