GameStop’s marketplace previously only offered art NFTs, but now it has enabled gaming NFTs on the Immutable X network for games such as Gods Unchained, Guild of Guardians, and Ember Sword.
Ah, GameStop — the sweetheart of the modern internet era and well-established Reddit folklore. If you don’t know what I’m referencing, watch this mini-documentary — you’re in for a treat.
Well, GameStop’s entry into Web3 under Ryan Cohen’s leadership wasn’t wholly unexpected, particularly to Token Gamer readers. In October 2021, I noticed GameStop was hiring an NFT and Web3 team. Then, once the project this team was working on was announced, the GameStop marketplace was called “dead on arrival”, which I vehemently disagreed with. Then Immutable X partnered with GameStop and co-launched a $100m creator fund. Finally, in July 2022, the beta for the GameStop marketplace and platform launched.
The tale now has a new and exciting chapter. I tested the beta platform on the day it went live and was content; I connected my MetaMask to the Loopring GameStop wallet and bought an NFT easily. However, my closing comments on the above-linked article were these:
It’s early days for GameStop in Web3, but this step has been a large and — thus far — successful one. The integration of Immutable X is the moment blockchain gamers are waiting for — which is presumably GameStop’s target demographic — and hopefully that isn’t too far in the distance.

Finally, that desired moment has arrived. Immutable X is now live on GameStop, and with it, some of Web3’s most exciting games and upcoming projects. These include:
- Illuvium
- Gods Unchained
- Kongregate’s Games
- Guild of Guardians
- Ember Sword
- Habbo Hotel
There is also a smorgasbord of lesser-known games and seemingly more to come.
We’re excited to share that the @GameStopNFT Marketplace is officially live on ImmutableX!

I, personally, and Token Gamer as a whole, are big supporters of both GameStop and Immutable X, as well as many of the games already listed, so this is welcome news on a dreary Monday. I’m not one for the crypto acronyms and initialisms usually, but it’s hard not to chant “WAGMI” at this news.
