My fondness for Skyweaver is no secret. It is a staggeringly good TCG by anyone’s standards, with arguably the best mobile app version of a game I’ve ever experienced. As I mention in this episode, Skyweaver mobile helped keep me awake as a newborn slept on my chest, and for that alone, it has a special place in this gamer’s heart.

Eddie Fear (which is a name so cool it can’t possibly be real) is the Game Director of Skyweaver, but also a person with an unparalleled background in TCGs and gaming. In fact, there are few people who can claim more experience in the trading card genre as he was there at the birth of the Magic: The Gathering and has been around TCGs ever since, both physical and digital.

This episode is a meandering journey through many topics, from the challenges of game balance and Eddie’s philosophy toward it, to Eddie’s machine-level knowledge of NBA statistics. It is one of the most relaxed episodes we’ve had with a guest, but don’t let that fool you, it’s rammed full of insight.
