Do you work in blockchain gaming? Perhaps you’re a developer, or a streamer, or a marketeer — whatever you are, we need you.
For those unfamiliar with the Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA), it is an organization dear to me. Not only is Token Gamer a member, but I am a member personally too. The BGA is the beating heart of gaming’s gradual adoption of the new technology, with members ranging from Ubisoft and AMD, to Animoca Brands and DappRadar.
BGA’s value to the industry is multifaceted, but one particular strength I follow closely is that of reports. Typically, in conjunction with the brilliant analytical resource, DappRadar, we see quarterly reports on the state of blockchain gaming. These documents are only surpassed in their illuminative merit by the more comprehensive, yearly report.
This year, Blockchain Game Alliance is partnering with both DappRadar and Emfarsis, a web3 advisory company that has worked with the likes of Yield Guild Games and My Pet Hooligan. This report will offer a fascinating insight into the situation blockchain gaming finds itself in after surviving the bleak midwinter. Through no fault of its own, blockchain in games has seen a marked drop in interest, though as shown in the most recent quarterly report linked above, investment and builders did not go gentle into that good night.
Nevertheless, blockchain games are hurting and so are the many entities orbiting them in this complex ecosystem. Everyone has felt the squeeze and it is imperative we get a lay of the land.
2023 State of the Industry: Survey of Blockchain Gaming Industry Professionals
For these invaluable reports to yield as much relevance as possible, it requires input from professionals. Although the beauty of blockchain is transparency and that gives us access to a veritable feast of analytics, there is information that is not on-chain. It doesn’t matter in what way you interact with blockchain gaming in a professional capacity, it doesn’t matter what your seniority is within a company, your insights are crucial. The survey takes five minutes of your time and helps the industry in more ways than you might realize.
