Blockchain Brawlers 25,000 WAXP Esports Tournament Announced

The Blockchain Brawlers developers have been quietly honing their game and guiding it towards an esport with regular tournaments. Their latest — and the biggest one to date — is the March Brawlers eSports Series Tournament (B.E.S.T.) with quite the prize pool!

It feels so long ago since I first wrote about Blockchain Brawlers, and in Web3 terms, it is: 18 months. I have watched the game grow from an underground clicker to a fully-fledged game. Nearly a year ago, I wrote the article, 3 Reasons Why Blockchain Brawlers Is Going to Be Huge: Exclusive Info! which was compounded by a video I made in August of last year. My sentiment was that with Richard Garfield’s involvement, Blockchain Brawlers has the potential to be a cult icon, particularly as it is creating its own sub-genre of game.

Blockchain Brawlers hasn’t quite seen the mass adoption I had hoped, but it is far from a flop. The game has regular players, loyal fans, and competitive tournaments, and it’s the tournaments that are grabbing headlines.

Blockchain Brawlers’ March Esports Tournament: 25,000 WAXP Prize Pool!

On Saturday 25th March 2023, the March B.E.S.T event will begin. To enter this Blockchain Brawlers tournament, you need to pay an entry fee in $BRWL (2,500 $BRWL) or Gold (to the value of $6-10 per entry) and 10% of the total fees is allocated to the end-of-year tournament in December.

The tournament format is single elimination brackets. You will play best-of-3 up to the semi-finals and finals which are best-of-5. Losers in the round of 16 will fight each other for 9th and 10th, losers in the quarter-finals will fight for 5th to 8th, and losers in the semi-finals will fight for 3rd and 4th. The winner of the tournament will be automatically entered to that end-of-year Grand Championship which will presumably have quite the prize pool by December!

The prize pool is spread among the top 10 finishers, with first place scooping 7,500 $WAXP, which is around $500 even at bear market prices!

1st place: 30.00% or 7,500 WAXP

3rd place: 12.00% or 3,000 WAXP

4th place: 10.00% or 2,500 WAXP
